As one of two cornerbacks from Wyoming’s 2017 team now looking to play professional football, Robert Priester has some built in motivation and companionship in Rico Gafford. “We’ve been communicating like every other day,” Priester said. “I talk to Rico. I ask him how he’s doing up there. How the medical program is, how his numbers are looking. And one thing I tell him and he’ll tell me is everything will work out. And another thing, don’t stress about it. I know that it can be a stressful process https://www.cowboysdaclub.com/emmett-cleary-jersey-c-56.html, but we’ve already got so much stress on us, so why stress about this?” Gafford and Priester were both senior defensive backs on a Wyoming defense that forced more turnovers than any other team in the country last season. “I most definitely feel like I can use that on my resume,” said Priester, who will be participating at Wyoming’s Pro Day on Friday along with Gafford. The Tampa, Florida, native has been training at Pro Sports Institute in Huntington Beach, California. “The weather’s really nice, so I ain’t complaining about that,” Priester said. “It’s not like the Florida weather and all humid. But training’s been going good. I’ve just been going day by day, one foot in front of the other and just basically out here trusting the process, giving it all I’ve  https://www.cowboysdaclub.com/jason-witten-jersey-c-74.html got and just basically keeping faith in God.” He made the trip down to Pasadena earlier this year to watch Gafford participate in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. “It was pretty good seeing somebody I played with at Wyoming play in the Collegiate Bowl,” Priester said. “So that was really nice Jason Witten Jersey, and I enjoyed it.” Said Gafford “Me and Rob talk every day. It’s like a friendly competition. Obviously at Pro Day, either of us will want to do better than each other at certain things, but we’ve played together for two years, we’re really close https://www.cowboysdaclub.com/jonathan-cooper-jersey-c-57.html, we call each other brothers and everything like that. “... So I look for Rob to do great things as well. We’re obviously the same position, and we’re obviously fighting for the same thing, so it’ll be a competition, but other than that, he’s like a brother to me and I want him to do his best and I want him to go as far as he can in life.” Priester said he has also spoken with some former Wyoming players in the class above him, linebackers D.J. May and Lucas Wacha, about the process of auditioning for the NFL. “And they basically just told me to go in there and trust the process,” he said. “Go in there https://www.cowboysdaclub.com/nate-theaker-jersey-c-58.html, do my own Pro Day. Don’t worry about what someone else is doing. Just trust what’s going on and knowing everything will work out. And don’t stress a lot. Be prepared when you go in there.” Priester, who signed with agent Andrew Scalingi of Granite Sports Management, said he hasn’t heard much about what NFL scouts’ projections are for him. “I know one thing,” Priester said, “I made sure he was working, so he’s putting in work right now, but I’ve just been leaving it up to him to make sure he lets me know and then I’ll go further into details. I’m really just focused on putting all my work in and making sure I’m doing what I have to do on my end and making sure he’s doing what he has to do on his end.” Listed as 5 foot 9, 180 pounds his senior year, Priester recorded four of his six career tackles for loss in 2017 and two of his three forced fumbles. He had four passes defended in each of his last three years at Wyoming. Priester appeared in every game last season, when the Cowboys rotated him, Gafford and Tyler Hall at cornerback, and recorded 39 total tackles. Priester reported to Laramie over the weekend to get readjusted to the altitude. “I don’t want to be too tired,” he said. “... I’m really just trying to come and showcase all my talent. Whatever the scouts think I can do, I want to do everything better. The 40s, we’re going to see what I can get but sub 4.5, 4.4. Do everything the right way, the bench, and show all my talents that I’ve been working on this whole time up here.”
